How accessible are we for disabled and / or wheelchair users ... ?

We have limited access for disabled visitors. The Formal 17th century Gardens, Kitchen Gardens, and tea-rooms are fully accessible by wheelchair if accompanied by an adult carer [Carer at child rate, wheelchair visitor free of charge]. Our Birds of Prey flying displays are also accessible. However The Enchanted Forest has limited access via the Canal Boat ride [an extra charge is made for the canal boat]. There are disabled toilet facilities close to the shop and in the tea rooms. New this year: We have been extremely fortunate this year to receive an award from the Historic Houses Association Disabled Visitors Fund. Which means we now have two wheelchairs available for those who find walking difficult -So you can enjoy the formal gardens in comfort and with relative ease. Obviously these are subject to availability.

How do you get to Groombridge by train / public transport ... ?

The nearest mainline station is Tunbridge Wells which is approx. 4 miles away. There is a local bus service to Groombridge from the station which runs every hour. Or alternatively if it is a weekend or during school holidays you could use the Spa Valley Railway- have a look at their web-site for a timetable etc.

Take the A264 through Tunbridge Wells towards East Grinstead. Once through Langton Green the road turns right, but you do not turn off. Continue straight on [B2110] down the hill into Groombridge and we are on the left. You will see a brown and white sign for the Groombridge Place Gardens at the junction too.
